Feed is the primary input in animal rearing, so we thought it would be ideal to start producing livestock feed to ease the burden and costs of importation. The nearest feed was coming from Uganda and Rwanda. 

The costs of importing feed were a barrier to small-scale farmers who already didn’t have enough resources. Inuka started producing feed locally using simple and available materials. We are not making sophisticated products. Instead, we are producing feed products on a very small scale but catering to the needs of our beneficiaries, notably smallholder farmers.
